Aprilis for Claude
Connector documentation

Builds ASC 606, ASC 805 and other technical accounting Excel workpapers and memos from your uploaded documents. From inside your conversation.

Connect Aprilis to Claude and work the way you already do: upload the documents, say what you need, approve the plan, and receive the finished Excel workpaper. Every figure traced to its source, every calculation live in the workbook.

What it does

Aprilis builds the technical accounting workpapers and memos your reviewers sign off on: revenue recognition under ASC 606, business combinations and purchase accounting under ASC 805, and other technical accounting analyses, built from your own contracts, order forms, amendments, schedules, valuation reports and management responses.

The connector puts the whole Aprilis workflow in your conversation. You upload documents in a panel that appears in the chat, describe the work in your own words, and Aprilis replies through Vee, its engine, with a plan: what it will build, the inputs it read, the open items it needs from you, and what the build uses on your account. When you confirm, Aprilis builds the workpaper and hands back a download link.

Aprilis applies a licensed CPA's methodology and firm rulings the same way every time. Where the documents do not support an input, the workpaper says so plainly with [REQUIRES INPUT: ...] instead of inventing a figure. Correct, or loudly incomplete. Never a polished wrong number.

Connect Aprilis to Claude

  1. Add the connector. In Claude, open the connectors directory (Customize, then Connectors) and find Aprilis. If your organization adds connectors by address instead, the connector address is https://aprilisgo.com/mcp.
  2. Sign in with Aprilis. Claude opens the Aprilis sign-in page. Use the email or User ID and password you use at aprilisgo.com. The page tells you which assistant is asking and what it will be able to do; choose Allow.
  3. New to Aprilis? Choose Start your free trial on the same page. We email you a link to confirm your address; once confirmed, return to Claude and connect. The trial, plans and credits are the same ones you see in the Aprilis app.
  4. Start working. Ask Claude for an Aprilis workpaper, or ask it to upload documents to Aprilis, and the upload panel appears in the conversation.

You can disconnect at any time from Claude's connector settings. Aprilis keeps your chats, documents and workpapers in your account, exactly as if you had worked in the app.

Build a workpaper

  1. Upload. Ask for the work ("Build an ASC 606 contract review from these documents"). Claude opens the Aprilis upload panel; drop in your files and wait for the panel to confirm they are in. Word, PDF, Excel, CSV, text and image files are accepted.
  2. Describe the work in your own words. Say which file is which: "File 1 is the master agreement, file 2 the order form, file 3 management's responses." Claude passes your words to Aprilis unchanged.
  3. Review Vee's plan. Aprilis replies with its plan: what it will build, the inputs it read from your documents, the estimates and their basis, the open items, and a final line saying what this build uses (a free trial project, a project in your plan, or a credit). Claude shows it word for word. Ask for changes, add context, or answer the open items; everything you say goes to Aprilis.
  4. Confirm. Say "proceed". A full workpaper typically takes 5 to 15 minutes. Claude tells you the build has started and reports progress until it is done.
  5. Download. When the build completes you get a download link for the Excel workbook. Links are valid for 24 hours; the workpaper stays in your Aprilis account, and you can ask for a fresh link any time.

Revisions and follow-ups

Stay in the same conversation. Ask Aprilis questions about the documents or the workpaper, request a revision, or add a document, and it continues the same project. Each Aprilis chat is one piece of work; a new engagement or a different company starts a new one, and Aprilis asks when it is not sure.

Ask and research without documents

You do not need to upload anything to ask Aprilis how a transaction is treated, what a standard requires, or how a position holds up. Ask the question and Claude sends it to Aprilis, which opens a chat and answers. Aprilis's accounting positions follow the firm's rulings; Claude relays them rather than substituting its own analysis, and if you want Claude's own view it will give it, labelled as its own.

What each tool does

Claude uses these tools on your behalf. Read-only tools only look things up; the two tools that change anything send documents or messages into your own Aprilis account and nowhere else.

Plans and usage

The connector uses your Aprilis account: the same free trial, plan projects, credits and team pool as the app at aprilisgo.com. Vee's plan always ends by saying what the build will use, and no build starts until you confirm. Prices and purchases are handled in the Aprilis app only; the connector never takes a payment.
